The convenience of the clip-on balance wheel weight

Clip-on weights became the industry standard simply because of their speed. It only takes a second or two to hit the weight on the rim flange, and in most tyre shops speed is of the essence. On the other hand, since the rim must be cleaned before the counterweights are installed, the installation process for viscous counterweights is much slower. However, the adhesive weight is traditionally cheap and can be hidden behind the spokes for a nearly invisible appearance.
