If you are driving on the road and your tyre has a puncture, or you can’t drive to the nearest garage after a puncture, don’t worry, don’t worry about getting help. Usually, we have spare tyres and tools in our car. Today Let’s tell you how to change the spare tire yourself.

1. First, if our car is on the road, before changing the spare tire by ourselves, we must put the warning triangle on the back of the car as required. So how far should the warning triangle be placed behind the car?

1) On conventional roads, it should be set at a distance of 50 meters to 100 meters behind the vehicle;
2) On the expressway, it should be set 150 meters away from the back of the vehicle;
3) In case of rain and fog, the distance should be increased to 200 meters;
4) When placed at night, the distance should be increased by about 100 meters according to the road conditions. Of course, don’t forget to turn on the double flashing lights of the hazard alarm on the car.

2.Take out the spare tire and put it aside. The spare tire of our passenger car is usually under the trunk. What needs attention is to check whether the spare tire pressure is normal. Don’t wait for a puncture and need to change before you remember that the spare tire is flat.

3.It is recommended to reconfirm whether the handbrake is properly applied. At the same time, if the car with automatic transmission is in the P gear, the car with manual transmission can be put in any gear. Then take out the tool and loosen the leaking tire screw. You may not be able to loosen it by hand, but you can step on it completely (some cars use anti-theft screws, and special tools are required. Please refer to the instructions for specific operations) .

4.Use a jack to raise the car a little (the jack should be at the designated position under the car). Then put the spare tire pad under the car to prevent the jack from falling off, and the car body directly knocks on the ground (the wheel is best to be placed upward to prevent scratches when pushing in). Then you can raise the jack.

5.Loosen the screws and remove the tire, preferably under the car, and replace the spare tire. Tighten the screws, don’t use too much force, just tighten the headband with a little force. After all, the car is not particularly stable. Note that when tightening the screws, pay attention to the diagonal order to tighten the screws. This way the force will be more even.

6.Finish, then put the car down and put it slowly. After landing, don’t forget to tighten the nuts again. Considering that the locking torque is relatively large, there is no torque wrench, and you can use your own weight to tighten it as much as possible. When things return, the replaced tire may not fit in the original spare tire position. Pay attention to find a place in the trunk and fix it, so as not to move around in the car when driving, and it is unsafe to dangle.

But please note to change the tire in time after the replacement of the spare tire:

●  The speed of the spare tire should not exceed 80KM/H, and the mileage should not exceed 150KM.

●  Even if it is a full-size spare tire, the speed should be controlled when driving at high speed. The surface friction coefficients of new and old tires are inconsistent. Moreover, due to improper tools, the tightening force of the nut generally does not meet the requirements, and high-speed driving is also risky.

●  The tire pressure of the spare tire is generally slightly greater than that of the normal tire, and the tire pressure of the spare tire should be controlled at 2.5-3.0 air pressure.

●  In the later stage of the repaired tire, it is best to put it on the non-driving tire.
